Have commuted through the winter and the wet spring and am now in the middle of a resto-mod on an early 1980s steel bike(Dawes frame)Was given it by the original owner. Haven't had so much cheap mechanical fun in ages. Hopefully have it on the road before the good weather runs out.

Welcome, sounds like you can take the bad weather as well as the good !!!

Out today but only 1 photo as it was a route i've done before and posted photo's.

Just a 16 mile as although dry and warm had a strong head wind which causes momentum issues..........

Due to the poor weather we have been having over the past few weeks it has been a while since I've had a decent bike ride. Today went on an away day over the water, River Mersey, to have a look at Sir Antony Gormley's 100 cast Iron Men which are set into the sand along the Waterloo, Crosby and Hillside coastal path. Then followed the bike path to Freshfields to get the train back. No wind and a glourious sunny day.

Here are a few photo's of the trip. In the photo's looking out to sea, on the left you have the mouth to the River Mersey and you get a good view of New Brighton and the coast towards Moreton on the Wirral side. Towards the middle in the distance is Wales and the Snowdonian Range. To the right is Anglesey an Puffin Island.

Nice pics but they need to be behind a spoiler button. This thread plays havoc with my browser (USB tether on phone at school) every time this thread bubbles up to the top of the unread list. :head_knock:

Been out on the bike today and ventured into Wales. Went to see how the border controls are working post Brexit so armed with my Passport and Visa (card) off I went. No problems at Sealand just rode past the RAF Sealand Guard House, not a border guard to be seen...... Anyway here are a few pictures from today looking from Shotwick (England) towards the Clwydian Range (Wales). The Clwydian Range is a series of hills and mountains that run from Llandegla, left in the pictures, to Prestatyn, right in the pictures. And one of the River Dee at Queensferry looking towards Chester. I've also included a picture of a bikers lunch - chips sausage topped off with fruity curry and a cuppa tea to wash it all down.

Bikers Lunch!!!!!

Awesome (riding to another country - wish I could do that!) Not so "chuffed" at the look of that brown thing holding your lunch wrap down. Actually, was that you're lunch before or after you ate it?

Great stuff Lester, i got out for a pushy ride yesterday. My first good ride since becooming a dog owner. Been walking everywhere with my m8 Rocket. But wanted to get out on rides with pushy group again. So got a bike rack & fitted it then looked for something to fit on top to carry Rocket.
Found a basket i could fix to rack & after a short test ride day before. I took rocket on a 16k ride up coast & back, he loved it i stopped for breaks so he could walk n sniff  n hike his leg. Young bloke next door took a pic but have to put it into pc.. still no idea how to post here

Well if Lakes were the one in the basket that would mean I've been conversing with a dog for the last couple of years

Thanks Dazz.
Craig was thinking the same, but a mate up road showed me a a stronger enclosed basket that dog sits inside. Rockst seems to like hanging out the side to watch whats ahead. when i took him up coast 8k then back. he liked it, i stopped to let him walk around every so often.

I think it's  :topmegacool: that Rocket goes with you.
I'd take George on my bike but she's too big and top heavy.
A bit like Dolly Parton.
Well, that and my bike has flat tyres.

Yes would be hard with a big Dog, but not impossible just have to get the right bike for the job. but sounds like your not riding much now.
those courier bikes with large box build into the front, could carry George, i'm sure
