Hi all,

I have an i30 CRDI 2009 ( UK spec ).  All the lights are working fine until I put my foot on the brake pedal. Then the off side rear light goes out and the OS brake light doesn't work.

Can anyone help, please ?

Cheers

Does that happen every time you brake?

Sounds like a short or dicky fuse/relay, but weird it's only one side of the car???

Be interested to see other views.

Personally, depending on what others say, I would pull and re-seat all the related fuses under the dash and under the bonnet and check the wiring near both offending lights, Maybe an earth wire is loose or something?

the OS brake light doesn't work.

Has the bulb blown?

If so replace the blown bulb and see what happens then
  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

That behaviour is usually indicative of a poor earth. Check all associated wiring.

Hi I agree with Dazzler, it sounds like you could have a loose or damp connection on one of your lights.  Not a big job to check I would think.

Thanks for the replies.

The bulbs are all fine.  I will check the fuses and earths as soon as Christmas is out of the way.

Cheers
