Lost my spare key and was just quoted $50 for the key to be cut, $183 for the programming /coding and $600 for the key itself.
Quote from Sutton's on Rosebery NSW (near Sydney airport).
I've got a 2012 i30 petrol auto.
Does anyone have a cheaper option?
Try a locksmith who does vehicles. There's aftermarket units out there. I have and FD and in Brisbane here there's a place that can do full transmitter remote for $169 or a standard key I got for $90.
Should be heaps of places in Sydney. They can be cloned. The only problem I've had getting a standard key is if it's locked by remote but unlocked with the key the alarm goes off but stops soon after the car is started.
What's the excess for lost car keys?
Are they likely to find the key and your car? That's probably the main concern
