Not entirely true. People have done it. I have done it with other vehicles. I am interested in hearing from people who have done it. Thanks for the reply though all input is appreciated
Thanks, that's awesome, I'll get my brother to take that in with his Rego papers etc. Then they will have to give him the codes
Of course, the point is to get the codes, not to say na,na,na,na you have to give it to me. I was thinking he should try another dealer. Mind you he just spent over $3000 on a service there just before he asked for the codes. You think they would have helped him out

Well good luck. Ive personally built several i30 keys using new and used fobs. I also use two Brisbane locksmiths, who specialise in this work, to create keys for stolen cars or to clone a 2nd key. Every time it has been a hassle to get codes from Hyundai. Some dealerships will not cooperate at all.

Its been impounded and has the usual finger-print powder mess on the outside. No damage or history of theft. The doors remain locked but one rear window is wound down so I can get inside but the door locks wont respond. On Monday, I will need a code so we shall see how cooperative the Brisbane Hyundai dealers are.

ABC Locksmiths at Brendale, had a code in a hour and arrived with key cut. Car runs like a charm. For the all up price, DIY seems a waste of $s
$300 key chip fob and code
I got a quote here in port Stephens for $220 for 1 key and he said he will pass on the code for whatever it costs him. I guess he means if he has to use tokens to get the code. I would still love to diy it. I like the achievement and getting the diagnostic software is a bonus.

That's the problem I had too.Well you know what the weather is like at the moment Gerard . We had 70mm dump on us Monday morning before the guy turned up.. The car was locked with two passenger windows down, luckily the tarps MOSTLY stayed in place.I would have had to trailer the car to Hyundai and Im snowed under with pre-xmas work and stuff. As it was, I had to be on hand to get the car off the transporter because the driver ( as are most towies) was too fat to get up on the truck and then squirm inside, the transmission was locked in 'Park'.At least the obese cops at the pound had the same problem so only the outside was smothered in print powder. And the car drives like a new one thanks for all your concern
