Hey all!

First post. I just bought a Hyundai i30 MY2012 Elite and it has the following headunit:

I am trying to source the parts required to install an aftermarket headunit (since apparently ther GD03 is not an option) and to my understanding I need the following:
* Fascia
* Steering Controls Harness and a Patch Lead
* Headunit Harness
* Antenna converter

I am having alot of trouble sourcing these mainly because it is a nav unit. The non nav unit parts seem plentiful. After much searching, I've found a place to obtain a few of these things. Can someone who's done this upgrade or knows about it please check these to make sure before I pull the trigger:

Fascia: :link: Aerpro FP8343 Facia kit to suit Hyundai For GD2 with Factory Nav Hyundai i30 2012 2016 GD GD2 | Free Shipping | Automotive Superstore

Headunit Harness: :link: Aerpro APP087 Iso harness to suit hyundai Hyundai iLoad Starex 2008 2010 With AST Button Hyundai i30 2012 2016 GD GD2 Hyundai iMax 2008 2010 With AST Button <-- Check this one especially. I'm not even sure if it's the right one or even if it is for GD02, will it work with the Nav model?

Very much appreciated guys, you're awesome :D!

Edit: Also, I'm in NSW, Australia in case anyone knows places to source things.

What head unit are you going to use? as parts required will depend on the unit.

All I can suggest is placing your new head unit model number into the space provided and see whats listed to compare :link: Hyundai i30 2012-2016 GD, GD2 | Aerpro

You may find many parts already stocked in shops like Alberts Car Audio and if not they might be able to purchase for you at trade discount.

Hi Craig

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't actually purchased a head unit yet but I want to go with this one:

:link: Kenwood DDX9019DABS | 6.8? HD Capacitive Display CD/DVD Receiver with Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto | Frankies Auto Electrics

The Aerpro site points to this harness: :link: Aerpro Kenwood To ISO With Patch Lead - Harness - APP9KE6 | Supercheap Auto -> So this covers the steering? Edit: No this is just the patch isn't it... I still need the SWC mentioned in the OP?

What about the primary harness?

As I read/understand it should all be in the one harness and the only extra part needed might be the antenna adaptor, I'm no expert though so I would suggest speaking to a specialist

Quoted from Aerpro

APP9 - Secondary Harnesses with Patch Lead: Kenwood to iso with patch lead
Designed to connect Steering Wheel Control Harness to an aftermarket head-unit

Aerpro "APP9" ISO Harnesses convert your aftermarket headunits plug to universal ISO connectors and includes the correct steering wheel control patch lead.
Aerpro APP9 harnesses work in conjunction with Aerpro Installation Kits, "CH" Steering Wheel Control Harnesses and Aerpro "APP" Primary ISO Harnesses.

ISO Harness Includes Mute Signal Wire and SWC Input Wire
Bullet Connectors Fitted to Main Power Wires
Includes Correct Steering Wheel Control Patch Lead wired in.

Thank you Craig :).

I interpret this differently:
Aerpro "APP9" ISO Harnesses convert your aftermarket headunits plug to universal ISO connectors and includes the correct patch lead compatible with steering wheel control harnesses. APP9 Harnesses are compatible with all Aerpro Vehicle Specific Installation Kits, "CH" vehicle specific Aerpro steering wheel control harnesses and infodapters.

The keyword there is compatible I think. So by the looks of it, it connects the primary harness but I still need the steering wheel control harness no?

Can anyone confirm or add onto what's been said?

Thank you ^.^.

Maybe these as well then :undecided:

Primary harness APP087

Antenna adapter APA47

SWC harness CHHY8C

and possibly USB adapter APHYUSB4

If were me I'd give em a call on Monday and get a complete list of the required parts :link: Contact | Aerpro or a local car audio shop.

I'm sure some of our knowledgeable members will have some ideas :fingers:
