Hey, so i first went to facebook groups to ask about this but noone even had this bulb im asking about. So i came a specific place in hope to find some help on this mysterious interior light.

I have a 2013 i30 hatchback. It had quite a few extras and i assume this is an extra as well. Well it must be as hardly anyone knows about it. I have attached pictures to show the position and reality of the light. And i would like some help on what type of bulb does this use and how could i possible change it? Thanks in advance!

I've never seen this light on any of our models though it looks factory, would be hard to find a light with the same curve to match I would think :undecided:

Might be a similar fitment to the boot light so prying it out with a short screwdriver or trim tool should work :Good_luck:

The blue throws me a bit.
I was wondering if it was an aliexpress special or something. He said it came with alot of extras.

I was thinking previous owner just stuck a blue LED in it, who knows :Dunno:

Once it's out if it doesn't have Hyundai/Kia - Mobis part written on it then we'll know for sure.

Even if it is an LED not working, it can be replaced with a bit of understanding. Take the lens off and post a picture of it.

Thanks for the reply guys!
The mystery continues as i tried to pop it out woth a screwdriver but it just doesnt work. Its not coming out. As i had a closer loock it feels like its part of the plastic which is the back lf the top tray shown of the first photo i attached. Bit that tray goes all around the gear shift. Im not sure how can intake that appart, i do want to come to conclusion tho! Anyone can link me to a guide? Thank you!

You just need the right tool to apply the force necessary to shift the cover...

I'll go back to what I said earlier, I don't see a parts breakdown of that light so it's likely not intended to be replaceable.

Before you go  at this hammer and tongs because we're assuming the unit will come out insitu, I would disassemble the console removing that main body that houses the lens and inspect from the inside.

It could be a solid plastic lens with the LED embedded and have pigtail wires or a connector. It may also be screwed into that or it may even just have plastic tabs or slots that are melted down to hold it there.

I would not try and pry from the front if that's what your doing.

Just saying, check it out first before it's damaged, you can be certain this bit will be some stupid amount of money genuine.

If it's proving that hard to pop out, assume it's built into the panel for permanence, and if you're still keen, remove the panel and show us the other side.

I found it! The LED is part of the gear shift cover. I will remove mine tomorrow and post some pictures.

As promised, here are the photos! I was reading a parts' list online and I found out that not all gear indicator covers are fitted with this mood light.

There are 2 tabs as shown holding the clear cover.

That's cool. Clearly the surface mount LED in the middle and diode and resistor to complete the 12V circuit. With a bit of imagination, you can retrofit a choice from any number of eBay solutions bypassing the existing components. :victory:
