I never really use the centre button... but I did try it recently and it doesn't work any more. It did once. Neither keys work.

Did I overlook something obvious?

Did you press and hold the middle button for two seconds?

I didn't bother trying it as I remember that's correct now that my memory has been jogged. I just forgot. :-[

I'd never tried it

The boot locks again when you close it

One day I'm gonna find a built in toaster hiding somewhere, I'm sure

I had that 'problem' and figured I wasn't pressing the middle button hard enough. I've just checked it again. Yep, soft press for 2 seconds works!!!!!

Fergie's in dry dock for a new evaporator/condensor unit (aircon) and I have an i20 as a loaner.

The key now quite clearly presses the message home :D

Please tell us about the i20. It will be interesting to get an i30 owner's perspective. Might need a whole new topic  :D

Please tell us about the i20. It will be interesting to get an i30 owner's perspective.

I had a test drive in a 1.2 petrol a few weeks ago.  Here are my thoughts:

Compared to the 1.6 CRDi 115 ps was a little bit sluggish on the 1 hill we have around here.  Only to be expected.

On the flat responded well and was nippy.  Easy to park.

I'd say cabin space about same as i30 but boot a foot shorter.

Overall, I liked the car. I know they do a 1.4 but would like to see a 1.6.

  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if
