Almost a perfect storm unfortunately.  Trish and I enjoy the Supercars so I hope the series continues without too many changes

I attended the Adelaide 500 this year in a Public Relations role for a certain organisation and it's sad to say that with the end of the Holden / Ford 'homegrown' rivalry, the mood was dismal. The number of times I heard spectators leaving swearing to never return was startling.

Their goose is cooked , it's basically a "Sport Sedan" event.
Bring back the old Sport Sedan days , way cheaper

Whilst I agree there are some major issues, I tend to feel there's too much money involved for it to all fall over.
Major revamp probably but that'll apply to almost every facet of life over the next year or two.
Especially in sport.
Cricket, Union. League, Soccer all have major issues. I think also netball and basketball.
Formula One?  :headbang:
Major sponsors will have enough problems without considering trying to prop up professional sports.

Yes, true.. I think the changes and twists in everyday life will be interesting, surprising, scary. entertaining and in some cases a combination of all four and maybe other emotions too.. :crazy2:

Without the faux tribal warfare thing (HvF) the bogans are confused about which cars they should direct their drunken comments at. Its no wonder they don't want to come back.

It's become incredibly expensive to participate too. I have no idea why anyone would. The gods of motorsport administration will have to dream up some other spectacle to lure the masses back to the hill.

Very true Keith.. I don't think I'm the only one that follows drivers more than makes these days.

Always loved Bathurst (aka The Mountain) not fond of supercars, much prefer the 6 and 12 hour events with exotic real world cars.
Would love to see i30 N and Golf GTi and similar back on the mountain, not something that the only part that is by a manufacturer is the badge on the grill.

Surely that's the problem. The vicious circle of the cost of providing the entertainment, and the need to fund it. And then the need for "growth" that fuels the cycle.

What's becoming apparent is the houses of cards in the entertainment industry that are now properly struggling without cashflow. Here's hoping they can reflect and find ways to provide affordable entertainment people actually want to see.
