One interesting thing I saw here was the SUV market results. I think the SUV represents the 4WD market of yesterday. Recognising that (perhaps) a lot of buyers were not the least interested in off-road ability but rather the high seats allowing a truck-like panorama of the road ahead. Something that apealed to women for whatever reason... perhaps simply because (often) smaller statured women had trouble seeing the same view that taller drivers had.

I also think that this is the reason that small cars like our i30 and others are significantly taller than their forebears. Gone, I think, are those very low cars where you nearly sit on the ground. Taller cars with a sit up and beg driving position nearer to kitchen chairs than lounge chairs not only offer a lot more room for their length but that coveted view ahead.

Man since I've been up in Brissy I've never seen so many of them on the road.
Obviously there are alot that are hire cars, but nonetheless there are alot out on the road.

That's a pretty good description. It's certainly the best out-of-the-showroom handler since the mini, IMHO.

Really? While there's nothing really too bad, it's hardly in that league. Surely not?

IMHO.

TF cortina with a worked 250 Ci crossflow, XF falcon rear end and a few other things... looks like it was a show car 10-15 years ago...

i wouldnt say its "the best out-of-the-showroom handler" it understeers quite badly... a little is expected from a FWD! but its pretty good for car with a heavy diesel engine in the front!!!!
