My wife Libby was admiring some garden windmills and wind spinners at our local garden centre. The prices were eye wateringly expensive, starting at £49.50 and going all the way up to £189.00.

She didn’t buy one.

When we got home I made her one from two Diet Coca Cola cans and a wire coat hanger.

We used to have these all over the farm, one of the farmhands would get bored/creative driving the header during harvest. As he'd sink tins he'd make something new. We had planes, cars, windmills and motorcycles hanging all over the joint. Poor bastard run his motorcycle up the arse end of a semi playing around with the carby. Thanks for posting Alan, one of the nicer memories of my childhood to look back on - sad I know
