does anybody know if you can install a 7 inch touch screen in here, and replace the facia surround?
The only way I could see the pictures was by re-quoting them. Somehow the original thread 'img' url is wrong.
So just to be clear if your i30 does NOT have a small glove box storage unit on the top of the dash but DOES have a square blank plate BEWARE....DO NOT attempt to prise or level this blank plate out...... It is screwed (from underneath) into the complete radio/aircon fascia trim. Any levering willl simply wreck the dashboard and serve no purpose as it does not need to be removed.
Any reason you went for a single din headunit rather than a double din?
nice guide! and ahhhh...that means that if one changes the headunit, the stock usb/aux port wont work as it is not a standardized cable e.g. usb input at back of headunit, but a multipin connector..thanks for the review though!Any reason you went for a single din headunit rather than a double din?
Wow! - Got the radio out at last (and no damage done yet). What the photos above do not tell you is that the plastic trim is held in place by lots of white nylon/plastic clips. DO NOT PULL THE TRIM DOWNWARDS AND TOWARDS YOU (as shown in the photos above).I succeeded finally by pulling one side of the trim SLIGHTLY UPWARDS AND TOWARDS ME (being careful not to break it). You need to be brave if you've never done this before, but I worry that the trim could be broken. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt="" title="Shocked" /> This tool is useful for removing two of the screws...The dreaded white clips (also known as the missing links!)...
