A few months ago, my GD  Premium started having this weird issue where the car would not unlock by pressing the button in the handle.

I thought it was the remote battery, so I got a new one, but the issue remained.
sometimes it would unlock, then relock.
one time it went crazy and kept locking/unlocking, so I'm now unlocking it old school via the remote only.

Anyone has any tips on what this might be?

PS: It does this with any key, on any door.

The first thing to blame with any digital electronic logic system is the influence of old fashioned environment. Start with suspecting deterioration of cable connections, likely just looseness in connectors in newish cars. There are plenty more on the checklist but this is the start.

@kroner Have you done a search on here for other "central locking" issues. There seem a few relating to GD's, so may find something helpful that way. e.g. :link: i30 GD Central Locking issue

so the car battery went flat for some reason.
It's 3 years old, but I guess using it once a week for grocery shopping is noe enough.
Anyway, I disconnected it from the car, charged it up, and reconnected it.
Voila! somehow (fingers crossed it keeps going) whatever locking issue I had got reset by removing the battery.
