So on Thursday I had Halfords check my air con.
It didn’t have any so I paid £50 to have it re gassed.
Worked perfectly went from 24c to 9c so a difference of 13c which is pretty good.
On Friday I went for a drive and noticed the air con wasn’t working so I took it back to Halfords the pressure was bang on at 26 psi
They toppped it back up and I was getting a reading of 5c which was the same as the outside temp.
However checked it last night and I was only seeing a drop of 5c checked it again today and nothing the compressor isn’t even turning on so I guess I have a leak.
 Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious.

So I can get the a/c compressor to turn on and run however it’s not producing “cold” air.

That's quite the valid question.

You may have a LO setting where the A/C drives to maximum cold regardless of the ambient temperature, or it may have a thermostat that determines you're already at or below its lowest temperature, so it may not kick in.

How about when the ambient temperature is any higher? In Australia right now, we'd be lucky to get below 17C at night.

According to Met Office (UK) Swansea got up to 10C today.
I would have thought AC effect would be noticable, particularly as demister on cold damp mornings here in UK.
Maybe get AC gas checked again.

There was another AC leak thread on here recently I replied to. [EDIT: Found it i30 GD Aircon Fan coming and going!!]

If you have a leak, it can be investigated using dye added to AC circuit.

I definitely have a leak.
I can get the “ air con “ system to work but only if I disconnect and reconnect the pressure sensor under the coolant expansion tank. On cold the “system” runs for a little while then shuts off and will not come back on until I unplug/plug it back in.
If I put it on desist mode it will stay on until something tells it to turn off I guess it’s the pressure switch.
When running the High side pipe gets warm to the touch and the low side is cool to the touch.  When the system is working 100% the high side should get hot and the low side should be almost freezing. That’s how you know it’s working.  Money is tight atm so I’m going to leave it a few months. (I don’t exactly need it ) as it’s averaging 6 degrees Celsius here in wales (Swansea).

I had a 2011 diesel and made the mistake of having it re-gassed at a cheap garage, but it was only a week or so before it was clear it wasn't working. I then took it to Hyundai dealer that re-gassed it with the test dye added. They found a leak in the condenser which they replaced under warranty which had about 2 months remaining. When the air-con on my current car stopped working I took it to a specialist air-con garage that did a proper pressure test before re-gassing.
