I had this dashcam: Gator GHDVR351 1080P Dash Camera | Supercheap Auto and sent it back once to Gator and despite being out of warranty, they fixed, I think, the circuit board as it kept shutting down, despite being plugged in and having the right SD card.  Was good for a bit but it's completely shit itself again.

Looking for something that's better than that one but not super exxy, as the quality of the footage was shit, in that you could not make out any information like the rego.

Maximum is $250.  Just need front camera.

I recommend the VIOFO A119 V3 - I have one at the front and a second on the rear window. They have been reliable and the image quality is excellent.

I also recommend the Samsung Pro Enddurance sd cards. I have had long term reliability issues with Integral and Sandisk cards - even the high endurance ones - but the Samsung ones are worth the extra cost
