i have a 2011 i30 1.6 crdi with 55k on clock... about 2 years ago started to run rough on low revs and was a bu**er to start needing 2 x  glow plug key settings to start...so put usual diesel cleaners through system and replaced glow plugs. problem still occurred so checked codes (nothing showing) and scoured the web for a fix...found a single post from bloke in canada who said he has same problem and to turn aircon on an it fixes it and he pulls fuse in winter (dunno why as aircon works with heat as well).. ok so i turned aircon on an lo and behold it fixes the problem however the vehicle has an aircon leak so no aircon gas hence the clutch doesnt engage on the aircon pump (obviously)  ....so my question is what would cause this and why would the aircon button (but not motor) fix this problem?? :crazy1:

Aircon turns on the compressor clutch and the electric fan, perhaps one of these is giving  a better ground for the system? Check all ground straps for good connections? Just a thought.
