My i30 is a 2011 FD 1.6CRDi KMH VIN. It's got about 94,000KMS on it and I've owned it since new. Only I drive the car. Did some preventative maintenance by replacing all suspension components including tie-rod ends and rack-ends. Only the springs are original.

it developed a clunk on the front passenger side (car is LHD). Troubleshooting revealed that if we install the original front passenger strut back in, the clunk goes away. ordered a new front passenger strut, installed and the clunk is back. Can't be possible 2 new struts clunk...

I'm at my wits end trying to diagnose this. I've run out of things to replace. All engine mounts and transmission mounts are brand new.

Any help would be appreciated on what to look for new. For what it's worth, the front strut mounts are bilstein which are not exactly the same part number as what my KMH build requires. but upon inspection the part is exactly the same as my original strut mount. my struts are Sachs (front and rear). I did not cheap out on this and ordered as much OE parts as I could from Spare Korea. the rest are from Spareto. even the bolts and nuts are brand new.
