I bought my current pd i30 7 years ago. Its mileage of 214,000 miles may not be outstanding but what I think is remarkable is that it's still on its original brake pads and discs front and rear (it recently passed it's MoT UK roadworthiness test). As its fd predecessor (also a 6 speed manual 1.6crdi 5 door hatch) gave me 288,000 miles I've driven a combined half a million miles in these two cars in fifteen years. Servicing for both has always been carried out by a small independent garage every 20,000 miles.
