Hi Folks
Following up to my previous post, while I had the same issue as another person in the forum in the removal of these door trims, i.e. one screw in the front two in the rear doors, like them I couldn't get them off and and didn't want to break anything either. Therefore I rubbed down the trims in situ, taking off all the back I could and blended what I couldn't remove, the best I could.
I then masked off the area, sprayed with 3 coats of etch primer and left overnight. This morning I cleaned the strips once again and sprayed with Dupli-color Trim and Bumper paint. According to the info on the can it dries to a flexible finish and has lasting UV protection.
Well, it isn't prefect but certainly looks a 100 % better than it did before. Will it last in the WA sun, who knows, most likely not but if it lasts a couple years it would have been worth the effort.
The early i30's are great cars, In my opinion they seem to be built better than the latest offerings from Hyundai especially the body panels (shut lines !) .... I suspect they're being built by a factory very different from where the FD's were built.
I hope they look at some of the negative comments being made in various sites and reviews and react positively.
I would like to buy another one, but they're making it very hard !
