Hi guys!
I have an FD CRDI for a 2 months now 😇
I know that’s an old car but my fuel economy is 8.6L/100KM. Iv’e drive all of my life with sports car so I know the condition of car that “drink” a lot of fuel, but for me the FD “winning and drinking” the most of them all 😂
And the FD is diesel!!
I replaced the fuel filter that was pretty much old, I cleaned the throttle body, puted high quality oil but the economy actually the same.
I know that the main reason for the bad economy is the gearbox - 4 speed automatic so you can’t cruise with low rpm like a diesel engine actually need and supposed to do.
My question is, if it possible to replace the old and bad 4 spd gearbox with an 6 speed automatic gearbox from the newest diesel models and would it fit perfectly ? If it’s possible and some of you did it, which gearbox should I need to use and what else did I need to replace? I asked it because I liked the car and for me it’s nice daily.
Thx for the help
