When I bought my car I asked the seller if it had a key socket, the kind you use to get you out of trouble if the battery in the car goes to Dog? A former partner had a Kia Sportage with keyless ignition and it had a special socket in the console into which you plunged the key if the battery in the fob was unresponsive, which would allow you to start and drive the car.  Seller assured me that such a feature wasn't required. The first time the battery in the fob went flat the car wouldn't start and sat there mocking me by steadfastly not starting or running until I replaced the fob battery. I've searched the car and found nothing which looks like a key socket, but I thought I'd toss the question up here and see if somebody catches it. Is there a key socket I can't find, or are you just stuck out of luck when the battery stops batterying?

You hold the fob on the start button if the keyfob battery is flat, should be written in the owners manual.

The owners manual? Who's got time to read that thing?
 :D
Thanks for the info.
You're far more informative than the previous owner.
