Hi all, yesterday my street was hit with some flash flooding and the left side of the car (Hyundai i30 2022) was under water slightly. The water level hit just above the door seal. Image attached.

I moved the car away and both front and back footwells had about 6-8 litres of water in them inside the car. I scooped it all out and have used towels and paper towel to soak up as much water as I can over the past 12 hours, but I can still feel that the floor lining is slightly damp.

Questions:
- What could have caused the leak? Don't the doors have seals?
- Would water still be trapped under the floor lining?
- Should I be doing anything for this situation beyond what Ive already done?

Thanks!

Look underneath the car, there may be some rubber gromits you can remove to try and get rid of the excess water
