i would use the very finest sand paper you can get (1500 ~ 2000 grade) just so the paint has something to 'bite' to!! any more corse and it may damage the plastic and show through the paint!

or even not bother sanding them... just a really good clean with metho, then an awesome wipe down with water, leave it to dry then paint...

I am sure there would just be a couple of retaining clips on each rail to disengage! (anyone know the trick?)

Yeah I think they came out as the Trophy model rims, but on the MY11 model they became the standard SLX rims in Australia...
