I was going to make a video today using 3 different cameras and then combine the video from all three

My new Full HD Benq M1, the 720P Otek Camera I used for most of the videos so far (which is really Trish's little Camera) and the little Mini Torch shaped camera I got off ebay for about $35 (only takes 720 x 480) But brian's video looked pretty good

Anyway, Trish had to look after the three little Grandkids (under 5 y/o) So I discussed the possibility of getting the "Girl Next Door" to help...

But apparently Trish didn't like that idea (Something about "that's fine dear... just don't bother coming home...")

So I went to plan "B" the good old gaffer tape and velcro.. seemed to work (I got back in when I got home

They reckon gaffer tape can get you out of the $hit (I believe it now ..)

Results reasonable but I forgot about the time stamp on the little "torch" camera 1/1/2008 .. results were o/k but think I'll just make a little video of that one separately and combine the other two.. might get to it 2moro

your camera on the tripod is looks very similar to my sons jvc camera dazz,I'm going to mount it on a suction cup window mount. you should give it a go as well mate.

What is the third one, by the way (didn't find it here; the first one is in the page 1, the second is 720p in blue box)?

Well, actually, I bought just one but they replaced it twice without asking for the "faulty" ones back.

The one I use now is far better than the ones in post 1.

Well, it seems genuine to me, at least an appearance of both device and its box resembles mine.

Think twice before ordering from DX, my last order was delayed for 1.5 month (I paid in the end of December and parcel was shipped in the middle of February), I couldn't get through to on-line chat and they sent me two items out of 3 at last.
My advice is to verify that camcorder is in stock, to do that you may ask an operator in a live-chat, as the information on the item's page can be out of date.

I've had a lot of stuff from DX in the past - I learned never to order during Chinese New Year Tho.

We have a DX here in the UK now so I'll see if they stock it here first, then I'll be ordering

I've got a fast 16GB SD card now for our BENQ M1 so i intend filming all of our drives next time we go on holidays (Can do a whole day at 720p)

Hopefully two batteries will last that long...

I wondered about getting one of those cameras but thought I'd try out the video recording on my Samsung Galaxy S2 first. So I ordered one of these suction phone holders -

It may work perhaps, plus I need something like that anyway if I want to use the phone as a satnav.

I received the phone holder mentioned above ^^^^ today. I wouldn't recommend it because the suction mechanism is very poor.

I wanted to try out recording with my Samsung phone though so I fixed the phone holder above the instrument panel with some double sided sticky stuff. Which works well enough but I don't like leaving it on show as someone may decide there may be a sat-nav in the glove-box and stove in a window.

Tried it out on a trip to the supermarket after it had gone dark. The Samsung S2 worked fairly well apart from a few times it lost focus - though I think that is a known fault for night video. Are the purpose made ones better at doing night stuff?

If you decide to give the vid a glance then please not that it is is rather big - 137meg - it may take a minute or so to appear after you click 'play'. I tried to cut the bit-rate with some free software but it screwed up. What do you guys use to alter vids?

When I get new tyres I'll be able to do the same run again and compare the road noise.

I use virtualdubmod to cut segments from my vids, then just upload to photobucket - it takes care of the resizing

Hi Diablo

Your phone did a pretty good job of handing the low light (for a phone) I haven't tried our cheap HD Video Camera at night (yet) I am lucky to have access to recent versions of Video Studio Pro & Power Director (But have used VirtualDub in the past)

You could try the Free Version of Divx Video Converter maybe

(just google it for more info and a link)

Don't include the "maybe" in your google search

I would say that the quality is perfect and it is even better than any other camcorder at night, but the auto-focus ruins everything.
