so i've had Snow for over a year now. her birthday was actually in september (19th maybe?) but between incessant rain and back issues i was unable to give her a promised detail. so on friday she had a detail that i paid for. i wasn't able to afford a full works but she had a good wash and sealant put on (as opposed to wax). we agreed she didn't need a cut and polish yet. plus had the front interior done, inc the leather seats and mats etc.

so she's lovely and clean and sparkly. i managed to get her home between thunderstorms and take a few pics on the way. sadly the detail has found a bonafide scratch on passenger right door, which i'm positive wasn't there before she had the detail but i guess must have been hidden under the dirt and is about the right position for a car door opening onto her. [not happy jan!] and is showing how much stone damage she already has on the front. more than i thought  :'(

but she has scrubbed up well overall.

now i have a feeling this won't work and will prob have to add pics manually but am currently tied between two pcs so bear with me.
guest pass for any flickr members. http://flickr.com/gp/akamikazebutterfly/bcqh9c
can everyone see 4 photos?

Can see why you are so proud of her Snowcherry.. She looks great (as do the photos)

A little disappointed though (It is almost compulsory for Birthday Specials to have some models in skimpy gear)

I thought we were going to see you draped all over her or at least a bit of leg poking out of a door or something  :'(

thanks guys, i feel like a proud mumma
she is perrty.

dazz lol. sadly there was noone else around to take the photos - what to do what to do  :sweating:

p.s not sure how those guest passes actually work. i only have a few pics actually set to public so no idea if a guest pass actually lets you see the rest anyway. and you still have to sign in to flickr not just be joe blogg public.

Wow! That is a superb car.

Looks like the Detailer has done a very nice job.

Unfortunate about the scratch you found on the door. If you rub your fingernail across the scratch can you feel it? If you cannot - then it can most likely be buffed out. Maybe speak with the Detailer about it?
Minor issue though with a car that looks that good.

Rocket.

sadly yes, my fingernail goes right into the scratch. its deep though not to the undercoat.
strangely where i park it at home, you can't see it! yet at the detailers it leapt out at me. so i guess between that and the dirt i simply never noticed it before. i went over the car prior to taking it in for that reason, that if i found any particular scratches i could ask about them.

another buff is not going to get it out by any means. even a good cut and polish probably won't.
not sure if trying to fill it or anything is worth anything as will probably make it more noticeable.

You may be able to give it a brush touch up - if you feel inclined. Sounds like you also have stone chips on the front so you could do these at the same time.

Your dealer should be able to supply a small bottle of touch up paint the same colour as your car.

The secret to touching up paint is to use a very fine artist brush, then add a small amount of thinners to a bit of the paint. Mix it up and then put a small amount on your brush. You must fill the scratch or chip without getting any paint at all on the surrounding area ( ie fill the valley without getting any on the top surface.)If the paint starts to go stringy upon applying, add more thinners. Works like a charm.

Rocket.
