Hyundai OZ site now shows that ESP/TCS is standard on i30 diesel (SX and SLX) and CC standard on SLX.  Also shows new prices ($400 increase for SLX).

Dealer says that my car is scheduled to land in Australia tomorrow Friday 19th..  at last!!!

I spoke to my dealer yesterday, says my car is on the boat in Fremantle and I should have it in a couple of weeks.  Not too bad only waiting 6 weeks or so in total...  Kinda feel a bit guilty after some of the waiting other people have had to endure

Only $400 increase with standard ESP, makes a total saving of around $600 - not that it effects me.

The Ship with Cars to Vic docked on Sunday.
My car should be ready by the end of next week.

If I next it next Friday I will have been waiting 151 days! (5 months)

I ordered after Market CC and Protectz pack. The dealer has credited me the cost of the After mark CC on my order.

You should also get credited the cost of the Protectz Pack, since for the SLX this consists only of ESP/TCS and this is now standard.

G'Day Dazza - yeah the missus is going to drive the Tucson.  Its sending me broke driving it to work every day, 150km round trip @ 11.5lt/100km.  The route i take - i think i should be able to get some really good mileage from the i30 - will have to wait and see.  I'm not going to bother trying to get a credit on the protecz pack - it woiuld mean re-signing the contract with Orix, and they already gave me a $3k discount so i cant complain.  Might hit them up for some floor mats etc as it wont need a new contract.

Yeh I was thinking that.. I thought the protectz pack was the ESP/TCS plus side air bags.. So if the price of the car has goine up $400 then that should cover the CC. Is there still a protectz pack that has the Air bags or are they std now as well??

I checked the Hyundai web site and it looks like some pages have been updated and some have not. So hard to tell..

Rest assured, I will be askign the question...

Protectz pack includes ESP and extra airbags on SX, just ESP on SLX (since full complement of airbags is already installed).  That's why the protectz pack is more on the SX ($1790 vs $990 or something like that)

Davet,
OK so the theory is (for a SLX).
That the price has increased from the base by $400. But now you get ESP/ TCS & Factory CC as part of the $400 price increase?

If that is the case, then I would think I have paid for the Protectz $990 and I paid $441 (according tot he dealer) for the after market CC, therefore I should also get $990 plus the $441 taken off as I did have a clause in my contract that the price would not increase..

Where on the web site does it state these changes?

Just go to the i30 page and it's under "Range and Price" and also "Specifications".  The information apears to be only partly updated - e.g. still says that Protectz pack required to get ESP but lists ESP as a standard feature.  Same with the Specifications - online version is updated, PDF version is still the old one.

OK Ive looked at the web site and compared info I had..

The old rrp for the Auto SLX CRDi was $27,990 (no protectz and No Factoy cc)
The new RRP per the web site for the same is $28,9390 (assuming that the last digit from the web site iw wrong..!) it is $28,939.00 this now includes Protectz and factory cc..

So if I ordered the above car with Protectz and After market cc.. Then effectively im out of pocket for the cc as it looks like the Protectz is included but the price has gone up by $949.. The dealer has already credited the cost of the after market cc. So given that the Protectz was $990 they prob still owe me $51.. So, no big deall..

As a side, it looks like the base SX will also get ESP as standard.. This is a good thing I think as all cars should ahve ESP..

These dealers must have been wondering where people were getting all this info from before its official release.  I detected some confusion in the voice of my dealer when i was telling him about CC coming standard, ESP standard and the price changing.  I didnt tell him about this website, but its good that the consumer now has this information

I suspect the price should be $28,390 not $28,930 (i.e. $2000 difference for the auto as it is on every other model)

Mate, that adds an extra twist to it doesnt it..! Thats only $400 increase for cc and ESP/TCS..
Also I noted that Metalic paint has gone up $20 from the original $300..

I will be having another chat with my dealer on Monday re the descrpency..!

Will see how we go.!

Keep us posted - I will be having a similar conversation with my dealer I suspect.  So far my dealer says they won't know the situation until they get the invoice from Hyundai.  If they try to charge me for the protectz pack as well as the $400 price increase I'll be tempted to walk away from the deal as a matter of principle.

Dealer called today to say the shipload of cars scheduled to arrive on Sept 19th had just been changed to October 5th.  At this rate I'll get a 2009 compliance plate..

Davet, is that OZ wide or just NSW?  VIC was supposed to have a shipment landing btw 14-16 Sept.  I haven't heard any news from my dealer, so I hope this is a case of "no news is good news" down here.

I can confirm that there was a ship that arrived in Melbourne last Sunday 14th.
I expect my car at the dealer later this week and ready for pick up soon after..

All your dealer needs to do is call Hyundai head office to confirm where your car is and when it will be shipped to the dealer..

Update..
My car will be ready to drive away on Friday at Noon (or soon there after).

I can also confirm that Factory Cruise control and ESP / TCS is a factory fitted and standard on all CRDi SLX's.
My dealer has wiped off the price of the Protectz pack and the after market Cruise control from my deal..!

The SX will now also come factory with ESP and TCS (But no factory Cruise Control)

The prices have finally been updated on the Hyundai Australia website.

For the SX diesel its now $400 more but ESP and TCS is standard.
Side and Curtain airbags are $700 extra.

I think the Protectz pack was previously about $1600-$1800 extra which included airbags, ESP and TCS.

So at a minimum the SX is now $500 cheaper.

The SLX diesel  now comes with the lot, and is $3,800 more than the SX.
