Note I have edited the trip slightly for privacy reasons. Most of the specifics have been taken out.



Day 1 Newcastle to Canberra with a pit stop in Merrylands (western Sydney) to get some Vortex diesel fuel.
Day 2 Canberra to Bright, then up Mt Hotham (I've been waiting nearly a year to do that drive again, awesome road, and it's where I witnessed the most amazing sunset of my life) then back down to Bright.
Day 3 Bright to St Kilda then Avalon, then back to St Kilda
Day 4 St Kilda to Avalon and return
Day 5 St Kilda to Avalon then as far as I feel fit to drive that night back towards Newie, probably Albury.
Day 6 Rest of the way back to Newie.

As you can see not a hope of getting a chance to have a service done for the car.........

Although if we go via the east coast of Tassie it's a lot longer than our last trip

That's not the full trip either add at least another 100 or so kms at least. This is all just the travel driving, there'll still be alittle bit of run about driving aswell.

This is going to be my 1st chance to really test the economy out. I know I won't do it off 2 tanks, but 3 will definitely do it, depending on where and when I do it though.

However from Newcastle to Canberra I will have 3 adults inclusive and 1 infant plus all associated luggage (she's going to be packed), for the rest it is just 2 adults inclusive.

Mt Hotham will kill the economy but I don't care it will be worth it, I won't be taking it easy on the bends! Of course being the responsible driver that I am I won't break speed limits either.

Hi everybody

Just wanted to bump this back up top for people interested to have a look.

Not to much has changed, I know my 1st pit stop will be in the western Sydney suburb of Merrylands to get a tank of Vortex diesel fuel.

I'd also like to ask any Vic members on the Hume highway and in between St kilda and Geelong for any advice on where to fill up, best price, best quality fuel etc etc. Normally I fill up at Caltex but I'm open to any recommendations.

I'm going down for the Avalon Airshow, as mentioned in another thread which I'll also bump back up, so please feel free to get in touch with me by PM if you would like to meet there.

Well last weekend was a much smaller airshow that I attended at Wollongong (Albion Park) if you guys are interested in seeing them?

I've only just started (digitally) processing them, I still have shots from the i30 meet I have to do. Hopefully this weekend I might get a fair chunk of my back log (dating back to Sept last year) done.

My big problem is I just get the enough time to take shots, but no time to process through all of em!
