A bit firmer than the old tyres but that's to be expected moving to a lower profile, much nicer around the corners but I've only driven it 8km's back from the tyre shop in crawling peak hour traffic so haven't had it out on the freeway yet.

Very good choice. The rear looks particularly nice in the wheel arch. Offset looks perfect too.

cruiserfied@ the rear was sitting a bit low as there were 5 wheels/tyres sitting in the back, now the wheels are out she's perfectly level across both ends.

She's got a slightly wider stance now, I was a bit worried when the first wheel was put on as the suspension was fully extended and the wheel stuck out past the guard by nearly an inch :sweating: but once it dropped to ride height it tucked in just perfectly and the 8" rim puts the rim and tyre directly in line with the guard when looking down as shown in the pic below.

Hmmm......time to lower I think  :D  I thought the front was sitting a bit higher but put it down to angle of picture. Offset perfection. Big thumbs up to whoever figured it out.

No lowering yet, I'll think about that once my 3 year cheap insurance is up with Allianz  :)

Yeah the guys spent a lot of time getting the offset just right, they knew exactly what I was after and the inside of that wheel clears the calliper buy 2-3mm :D

Beautiful, Craig. That reminds me of when I put Firestone 235s on my Challenger mags in my Commodore days. The tyre walls were also perfectly flush with the arch edges in that one. :victory:

Lol I'd be happy with mobile phone photos.

So is there a product you have in mind for the tires? Looking a bit too new and dusty. Will look even better when they're wet & shiny.

That's probably just the angle of the camera/phone and the sun shining through the window onto the tyre oil making it look dusty, the last pic on the previous page shows what they actually look like...nice and matte black like the wheels :D

Does this look better with the Meguiars gloss tyre gel

Nice one. I need this product also.

Must look a treat when out on the street. Your car is slowly transforming into a beaut little machine.

Thinking also about getting the wheel cleaner. Like I mentioned in another thread, the standard wheels are a pita to clean manually.

Now that I'm not with Allianz anymore I'm thinking about it but the height clearance is only an inch and a half from top of tyre to guard and with the off set I have I don't know if I could lower any more :undecided:, as far as I've got so far is looking at the kit ( pictured below ) I thought the rear control arm required replacing with an adjustable type as well :undecided:

Have you considered a coilover kit with camber adjustment? Much nicer setup. Little pricey though.

Yeah a bit to much exspense when the shocks I've got are still perfectly fine, I had adjustable coil overs on the Clubby and once lowered there was virtually no suspension travel left in those short little springs ( though the clubby was as low as one could possibly go :whistler: ).

Eibach have a new kit out that looks good though using Bilstein technology but I'm sure coil overs will be in the range of 2K + as opposed to $400 or $500 for a lowering kit but I'll have to investigate further yet as the standard shocks might not work well lowered springs :undecided:

Standard shocks should be fine for an inch drop.

From what WA Suspensions just told me adjustable rear upper control arms shouldn't be necessary with an inch drop either but cant guarantee that until after fitting and alignment is checked.

Springs fitted and alignment $700.

Coil overs fitted and alignment starts $1400

And I'll bet they're only height adjustable. Not camber and damper rate.

And I'll bet they're only height adjustable. Not camber and damper rate.
They were fully adjustable with damper dual settings for compression and rebound ( XYZ Super Sport coil overs ) but as coil overs only go on the front the camber can be adjusted with camber pins but the two biggest places I questioned... both agreed that coil overs are unnecessary and will spoil the ride quality ( more suited for racing )

Edited for factual changes

Sorry I got that mixed up Wilkinson Suspension Centre who specialise in Eibach said that their coil overs would spoil the ride and to stick with just springs.

WA Suspensions who use the XYZ and Tein brands said it will be fine as they have versions to suit all types of driving.
