Hello all,

Just to say "hi", I'm Alison from Twyford, Berkshire and a proud new owner of a shiny red i30 1.6CRDi called Henry.

Great forum and have already put my mind at rest re: very low DTE figure Henry is currently showing after first fill-up. It looks like it's too early to get reliable data.

Meet Henry... (sorry about pic quality - camera phone not great)

ThelmaAndLouise,

Hi and welcome from down under.  Hope you enjoy iHenry.

Yes, the DTE is rather off, but it does correct itself over time and become more accurate.  Troll through the postings on here and there is quite a bit of info about DTE.  I made a full study of how the computer works as the tank gets closer to empty - it's somewhere, but can't remember where.

Bob

Hi rossvis - we're about 20 miles from Tadley; we're east of Reading, Tadley to the south west.

Hi Bob,

Yes, I've seen your fuel consumption log (most impressed!) and I will be busy with Excel over the coming weeks keeping track of our fuel consumption.

TTFN - back to work

Hi Alison & Henry..Welcome to our humble club... 8-)

You have probably already discovered that there are not many red i30's on the forum.. It's nice to be different...

Hi all,

What a friendly forum this is!

Shambles - no we only got one remote and one ordinary spare key when we collected Henry.  Having now read other posts I wish I'd pushed for two remotes.  We only got £15 worth of fuel too

The choice of red was partly financial - £390 cheaper than the metallic or mica paint.  Plus the fact that there are soooo many silver/blue/black cars on the road we wanted to be a bit quirky.

Looks like we might need to head on up the M6 to see some other i30s - there are none to be seen around here.

...or round the corner to the top of the M25!
