Hello everyone, first of all I must specify, I am French and that I don't have a very good level of English, sorry for that.
Here, I would like to replace the head unit of my 2013 I30 to have something more modern and compatible Android Auto / Mirrorlink and keeping my rear view camera, my steering wheel controls and if possible the original remote microphone even if I know it is not too much of a problem.
There are a lot of models on Android on the internet like

- :link: Autoradio Android 9 GPS Hyundai i30 depuis 2012

- :link: Autoradio GPS Android 9.0 Hyundai I30 (2011-2013) ? Player Top ®

But I am not sure that these models are suitable to replace the one currently mounted on my dear I30

I also saw that you can buy a plastic to adapt a "universal" head unit with an adapter.

I would also like to change the 4 speakers, but I don't know how to dismantle the rear side panels or the seats. (three doors)

I'm a little lost, can you help me please ?

thank you very munch for you help

 :welcome:

Your English is way better than my French.  Well done!

Our resident 3 door owning i30 Audio expert @CraigB will be along a bit later to give you his valued opinion. He's in Western Australia and it's only 4am there.

Basically there is a later i30 Android Auto compatible unit (called a GD-03?) Which is often available second hand online which is a relatively easy straight swap.

But Craig will fill you in with more detail when he's up and about... thanks Craig.  :winker:

I’ll help if I can, to start with does your model have the navigation unit and auto climate control? If it’s a navigation unit then the Australian GD-03 model won’t be suitable.

If you go with an aftermarket unit then you’ll likely require and Aerpro fascia :link: Hyundai i30 2012-2016 GD, GD2 | Aerpro and suitable connections, which exact connections I don’t know so it might pay to speak with a local audio shop to find out what exactly is required if you’re not sure yourself.

Thank you for reply,
@Dazzler, thank for the compliment, I am more comfortable with writing, I need it in my work.
@CraigB Yes I have the navigation unit and auto climate control.
I heard of the GD-03 unit, I know that this unit or similar exists in France but impossible to find it.
This is why I searched and found the units mentioned in my post but I think they are made for the version without navigation, without touch screen.
It seems to me that the pinouts are different that is why I have a doubt.
The problem is that I have not found any store capable of helping me even the Hyundai dealer...

Suggest you buy a Pioneer or similar quality H U. I have Android Auto & Apple Play capability in mine and only required an extra cheap loom for steering wheel functions to work. They come with a microphone too,so just clip that on to dash above clocks etc. Easy to fit but make sure you buy correct surround approx £30 (same one that costs £100 from most retailers) I also fitted a rear camera,as unit has ability for front and rear cameras etc Also Dab radio etc.

Sure can :goodjob2: I got back from the airport at 4am and tiredness had hit me.

I’ll copy paste what was written from the other topic...

“For the 3 dr if I remember correctly the installer had to remove the backseat on mine to allow the rear side panels to be peeled back from the b pillar, you need to remove the B pillar door seal and plastic scuff panel.”

Yeah if you have the navigation unit the GD-03 won’t fit due to different shape.

You’ll require the fascia FP8343 from the aerpro link I posted earlier :link: Aerpro FP8343 FACIA KIT TO SUIT HYUNDAI | eBay

Once you have the fascia the installer should be able to match up many brands that would suit and match/build the correct patch lead required.

All leads can be found on the Aerpro website I linked previously, then search the code in eBay to purchase :link: Aerpro APP087 Primary ISO Harness Suit Hyundai & Kia | eBay

I've no idea which ones would be required though which is why I suggested speaking to a car audio specialist.

A link recently supplied on the forum by RatPC points to an android option :link: CES AUTOS Limited. Hyundai I30 (11 - 13) Android 9.0 RD5724 you'll need to use their contact link :link: CES AUTOS Limited. Contact Us to ask whether they have a unit that is compatible with the factory navigation type (fascia shape difference)

Seems to be the same unit as your first link :head_knock:

Thank you for your feedback, I found this product (Link) but how can I be sure it will fit on my car? I think, it doesn't keep the original microphone, so I have to make an adapter to jack?.
I found an adapter for the USB but not for the aux jack.
As for the rear speaker, the problem is that I don't know how to remove the seats. I'll watch it when the weather is better

Says they're for the right vehicle but I wouldn't really know as I've not installed an aftermarket system in an i30 before, that's why I suggested a car audio specialist.

Hopefully a member who has installed and android system can give some feedback on what connections are required :Good_luck:

I got a response from the site you mentioned, they replied

"Hi, it will be fine as long as you don't have amplified speakers.
Best wishes
Rob"
I don't really understand what it means. But I have a doubt because the adapter recovers the USB and the AUX, while for my car it is separate like this

Is it best to find a specific unit, or a "generic" unit with the adapter harness and a plastic front mentioned by @i30estate2016 ?

thank you very much

Hello everybody,

To date, I have ordered an interface (CAV-HYUNDAI-CTSHY008.2 / CHHY8C), the power supply and the sound work but not the steering wheel controls. I will contact the seller. I will keep you informed of the progress of the situation

I have just the standard radio with CD slot but a double din unit fits when you take it out,as Regards to my Pioneer H U.
Slot is same size once Factory unit is removed regardless if you have a larger sat nav screen as standard etc,so that surround and HU should fit yours if similar year to my i30.

Hello, I come back to you after a long time, the seller replaced the interface box but it still does not work. I do not understand. It's because my unit includes navigation? I do not understand ...
Thanks for you help

Hello everyone !

Do you think it is possible that the beam is different depending there is have navigation or not? because looking at the different diagrams and topics is really the impression that I have.
For example, my USB and jack port has an independent connector, but most of the time I see it in the main harness.
This explains the problems I encountered with my previous attempt ...
Has anyone ever replaced a navigation unit?
If not, can I find a newer unit that will be compatible with android auto?

None of the factory nav units in the GD models were Android Auto/Apple Carplay compatible as far as I know, the compliance update was only made available on the later GD models with the standard Cartronics (non navigation) units.

You'll likely have to look at a third party system and installation.
