Always a happy way to start a night at work, noticing that you have blown a headlight as you leave the garage to go.

Anyway I have ordered some Phillips long life Ecovision bulbs from these blokes

http://www.powerbulbs.com/au/product/philips-eco-vision-h7-car-headlight-bulbs

Plenty of other globes there for those who want something brighter, but I was just looking for something that would last.
I will let you know how they go.

Did you know bulbs have a fixed life  to within hours if not subject to mis-use?

Rough service bulbs have twice the life of standard bulbs in domestic use.

The only way to get longer life from a bulb is to reduce the rated voltage or increase the resistance of the filament.

Conversely the only way to get more light from a bulb is to increase the voltage  or reduce the resistance of the filament.

It's all down to the laws of electrickery.

They look thicker than the one they replace, and the light output is lower than  others they advertise so lets see what happens....

Drivers side (non Phillips) went tonight, so the second bulb goes in....It is very sad driving on the Passengers side.

The evil passengers side is still running, 13 months and 30,000k and counting....

Which code did you use? "RLKHQ1883" or "MONSTER20" ...

I quite fancy something different, like the set that states "not road legal in the EU"

I've tried one of those so called bright light bulbs and it was kak.

Yes they were alot brighter than the standard bulb but they didn't throw the beam further, matter of fact a lot less. I had a standard on the ns unit and the brighter bulb in the os and there was a big difference on the distance .

Oh I forgot to update this, I relied upon the wife telling me the head light was out. After ordering a new set of bulbs, it turns out when I jumped in the car it was working fine. The wife still swears it was out  :head_butt:
