Bit unsure what to make of the i40 eco claim:

he new i40 meanwhile delivers fuel economy from 65.7mpg on the combined UK cycle,

Is that suggesting the eco starts at 65.7 and just gets better and better? Put me down for one.

The Hyundai i30 and i40 eco claims are pure bunkum - they are quoting the government official figures as tested in a laboratory. It is not Hyundai's fault - all mmotor manufacturers in Europe are legally bound to quote the official figures.

What is sad is that the cars are now tuned to get the best official figures - rather than for the best "real" usage economy.  This will change because manufacturers and motoring organisations have long campaigned for a better system to be introduced - Worldwide.  Moves are afoot, but will take a few years to be introduced
