 The caravan – scourge of the roads or beloved mobile home – has had a tech upgrade, as a German company has created a futuristic model that can be controlled using a smartphone.

Caravisio went on show for the first time in the UK at the National Motorhome and Caravan Show at Birmingham’s NEC.

With the caravan market in decline, makers Knaus Tabbert say the aim of Caravisio is to show what the future caravan might look like.

Styled on a luxury yacht, the caravan is packed with technology, including a finger print-activated biometric access control.

I reckon you could modify something a lot cheaper to incorporate most of those features.. Anyone who could afford that sort of money, wouldn't want to tow a cvan or stay in one...
