Hello all,
After seeing some videos of other branded cars and their new entertainment systems, it became apparent to me that the current Hyundai set up is againg... Fast! Most other cars have things such as voice commands, apps, notifications etc... One way to keep our current system a little bit more current would be to connect the android voice assistant 'Google now' or the iPhones 'Siri' to the car. By doing this the car could have voice commands for things such as:
> Turn by turn navigation
- simply say "Google take me home" or "Directions to '______'" and Google will tell you as you drive where to go and when to turn. The new Google maps will even tell you what lane to get in! This feature is really only handy for people with i30s without the built in nav, but still have Bluetooth.
> Phone and text
- Compose text messages without taking your eyes off the road
- Dial and ring people
> Music
- Ask Google to play any song, album, artitst or playlist on your phone or device
- If you are subscribed to Google music you can ask Google now to play pretty much any song created.
> Other
- Set reminders, alarms and timers
- ask Google what the score was on the game you missed
- ask Google any conversions or calculations such as currencies
- record a quick voice memo to remind your self later
- and other stuff I can't remember
To get all this, all we have to do is resign the green call button on the steering wheel so that instead of it making the phone ring the last called person, it instead activates Google now. The question is... Which one of you is smart enough to progam our phones to do this?
