I have replaced my damaged tailgate but need to take the spoiler off the old one to fit to the new one.
Not sure how it is attached. Is it glued on or are there some hidden screws?
Many thanks

Ive not removed one from a wagon.
Are there 3 panels across the top like in the hatch spoilers? If so there are screws underneath (held down with double sided tape, hard to remove without damage) spolier also has double sided tape holding it onto the body.

I'm on Tapatalk so cant see if you have an FD or GD wagon. I posted a video on youtube of me installing one on an FD CW. If you cant find the link I have posted on here, search youtube for my videos under Mrdazzer007. Will give you some idea of where tape and stuff is as per Tim's description.

The spoiler consists of just one panel. Have seen the video which is very good but I don't think the spoiler is the standard one as on my 1.7cdi.
The top of the tailgate where the spoiler fits is double skinned so impossible to undo any screws if there are any. I suspect it is just stuck on with double sided tape but I hesitate trying to remove it without damage.
Thanks for your welcome comments.

I reversed into the back of a tractor which had big bars sticking out of the back. So I ended up with a large dent in the tailgate. The damage was (in my estimation) too bad to knock out so I bought a replacement off ebay. Not my finest hour! Unfortunately it didn't come with a spoiler, hence I would like to put my old one on my replacement tailgate.

The one I put on was a genuine one so surprised yours is different. I would try to soften the tape by dousing it with boiling water and try prising it off with flat tools maybe with two or three of you trying at the same time at different spots.

Not sure of the design but if possible, nylon fishing line should do the trick, assuming you can get under it, that is. Then you'll need a solvent to carefully remove the excess.
