Hi all - another newbie i30 owner just calling in to say g'day. Bought a red SLX as a birthday present for my wife (even surprised her with it wrapped in ribbons and a bow!) - the dealer has been excellent although I'm another person having issues with this stupid single key and alarm issue. Seems to be a lot of us! Anyway nice to be on board.

Most Picture hosting sites will give you an image link which you can copy and paste...

If you do it as an attachment it blows our bandwidth out...

What a Romantic you are. Thats one pretty impressive birthday present. Your wifes one lucky women. I just gave my wife an i30 as well but it was one of those paper-cut out ones just posted on the forum. It actually is my wifes birthday next week but she will be lucky to get a pair of slippers as a gift.

A few pics - not very clear I'm afraid as it was night and I had to pick shots not showing my better half in the photo! The ribbons went front-to-back and right around the sides with bows front and rear... we then drove it to a restaurant with the ribbons still attached... it was a good surprise

I think I have just made a mistake.  

I showed these pics to my darling wife.

Suppose I should finish off the story… it went like this

I gave her a little iPod Nano for her birthday. We went round to a friends place to pick them up and go out for dinner… what my wife didn’t know was the car was parked in a dark corner of their backyard (friends were in on the surprise). When we got there I told her I had also bought some speakers for her new iPod (I’m into music so she immediately thought of some big huge ugly tower speakers and I could tell by the look on her face she wasn’t impressed) – we then went outside, turned on the light… "Happy birthday honey, there’s your new iPod speakers"

PS – nearly a quarter century of marriage putting up with me,  she’s definitely worth it.

PPS - Playing with pics led me to playing with an avatar - that's my mut with the ball.

Just wanted to close this off with some good news - my dealer just called and he has received our second remote key - just need to get a time to program it for us - credit where credit is due, we didn't need to push the issue (IMO it always pays to have a good relationship with your dealer!).
