Hyundai are set to turn one of their concept cars into reality to take on the VW scirroco in the UK market, and other markets.

Ideal if any of you feel like a mid-life crisis.

Vote for it as the What Car?s most exciting car for 2011:

Thanks for that Lorian The picture in your posting is about its best angle from what I found on Google Images..

Certainly turn some heads but a bit of an aquired taste (for me anyway)

I have always liked the look of the sirocco in its various forms (although never been available in OZ as far as I'm aware)

Never been a really mainstream car over here, but an aspirational model. Problem is price,  "may as well buy the golf as it costs less". Or an i30 if you take a little longer to consider the ownership proposition  :goodjob:

Better pic of the veloster (concept). First pre-production model  pics in a few weeks hopefully.

Here are some other angles looks a bit bloated from these angles in my opinion (the scirocco appears to be more sleek to my eyes)

The back end might have changed a bit in the production model. So far the only pics are with the blackout skins on the back, we should see soon.

The Veloster ...

... will be launched simultaneously around the world in the final quarter of next year.

That will be quite some feat  :thanks:

fitted with a 1.6 140hp petrol engine.    why don't they use a 2.0 diesel or a 2.0 petrol turbo engine?   :faint:
  • 2009 manual sx hatch and 2009 automatic sx cw. both 2.0 petrol.

If you look at the 2 side views on Dazz's post, the door shut lines are in different places etc. The bottom image must be an artists impression, the top may be just a mock up.

We don't get to see the real thing until the detroit motor show. there are some pics of it on the web but it's covered in black camoflauge.

I'm thinking the top one is a concept (full glass roof etc... ) and I'll put a small amount on money on the bottom one being how the final production model will look
