Overtaken on the way to work by a new shaped (GD) i30.

Can only assume the new steering controls take some getting used to, but there's no excuse for the way she joined the M6 motorway

I am working in Blackers in Friday so I will keep an eye out for the same car

I have noticed that merging, both on and off motorways is not something that is taught, probably because learners are not allowed on motorways.  They either do what this one did, i.e., the loose their bottle, or, like my daughter live in love/toy boy does, which is FORCE is way in believing that the word merge means traffic already there MUST give way...  either way they are both dangerous.

Oh um...      :blubber: :blubber: :blubber:

I wonder what the thinking was to get behind the slow moving trailer?

Is there an exit just further on which they mean to go off at?

You had left plenty of room for the car to move to the right.

Much further down, yes.

Conventionally, you join that motorway and change lane to allow the inside lane to filter in freely. She obviously hadn't got a clue, judging by her use of right-left-right-left indication

Downscaling the video masked her other indiscretion, where she occasionally dipped her toe into the nearside lane.

Technically she was correct... as joining traffic should give way to traffic when merging to enter  a  major route.  Presumably, the left hand indicator signal was her way of showing that she was NOT changing lanes and moving out?

HIGHWAY CODE

Lane discipline
133

If you need to change lane, first use your mirrors and if necessary take a quick sideways glance to make sure you will not force another road user to change course or speed. When it is safe to do so, signal to indicate your intentions to other road users and when clear, move over.

And...although difficult to assess there appeared to be  a lot of  outer lane hogging going on when the left lane seemed to be clear for some distance ahead!
