Oil warning came on after about 50 miles (constant, doesn't flicker).

I stopped when able and let the engine settle for 10 minutes before checking oil, it was dark and the dipstick only seemed to have one marker, which it was over. I think it's over full, but not by much. Dropped it off at the garage this morning, but wouldn't mind some further thoughts on what else it could be.

It has a warranty, just really hope this is as simple as an oil drain and not something more serious, is there anything else it could likely be? given it still drives fine, no smoke, hissing, rattling or any other indication of a fault or problem beyond a light.

Any thoughts or advice appreciated.

I do hope you're not faced with a bill for a new oil pump (though your warranty should cover it I guess).

There are a number of trouble codes (DTCs) which might pinpoint the issue - hopefully your garage will check for these:

P0520 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Malfunction
P0521 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance
P0522 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Voltage
P0523 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit High Voltage
P0524 Engine Oil Pressure Too Low

Got the car back, and it's booked in to be fixed on the 4th but apparently it's just the sensor.

Local garage has always done me right over the years with my old car, will get them to give it a once over and make sure there's nothing else wrong with it.
