Long time lurker, first post, please be gentle.

So I bought my i30 last October and have owned it from new, everything was fine (except for some rattling) until I took it for it's 30,000KM service. After the service caller names no longer show on the LCD screen. I do see the number but I have to take the phone out of my pocket to see who is calling. That not much use if you don't particularly want to talk to someone. I took it back to the garage and shown them and they didn't have a clue. I have deleted my phone and re-paired it, phone book deleted and rebuilt, even formatted my phone and nothing helps.

It can see the numbers because if I say the name it does call, and show the name in the screen. It's only incoming calls that are affected.

Has anyone any idea? Can I update the radio software myself?

My guess is they have updated the software in the radio, and there's something not right with that update.

Keep them busy, it's their product, they should know how it works.

Mine has been a bit funny lately too.
When I scroll through the list of names in the phone book, some of them come up with just the first letter and not the full name.
