Hi all

My service booklet (the one with the scheduled maintenance items and the records of my past services) has gone missing when the car was booked in to have the waterpump replaced.

Hyundai swear high and low they did not remove it, but I cannot see it anywhere and I have turned the car upside down, inside out to no avail.

I am looking for this booklet as Hyundai will not provide me with one and I want to do my own services on the car. Nothing major, but I am thinking filters, spark plugs, oil, that sort of thing.

Has anyone perhaps got a link where I could find said booklet? I know the booklets differ from region to region; over here, the services are 15'000km apart so that would be the one I am seeking.

Oh, this is for a 2011 i30, 1.6 Petrol Manual

I have looked but I cannot seem to locate it. My migraine meds haven't worn off yet so I might be looking right past it.

I even unpalcked my cupboards and looked there, even behind the couch and under the bed and at work. She is a goner, I'm afraid

Did they say why they can't get you a new one? We supply new booklets occasionally and bring it up to date using service history on file.

I asked them for a replacement and they said that since they log everything on the computer system, I don't need one. I told them I am planning on doing the small services myself thus I want a booklet so that I know which items to check when.

The guy I spoke to then got a smirk on his face and said he can't help me, sorry

The dealer stamps at service time add value to the car when trading. It proves regular servicing, you should still try to re establish that information by replacing the service book. Try again with a different serviceman.

The branch in my town are very unwilling to help so I might have to go to another service centre in a different town and try there.

I am not planning on trading the car anytime soon as I tend to keep my cars longer than 10 years or 400K km, whichever comes first

Yes, but they don't need to know that, it's just a valid excuse for getting a replacement book.

Why not write to Hyundai SA, see if they can send you a printout.

Offer them a few ZARs - they won't be able to resist.
