Hi all,

We have a 2012 i30 5 door hatch and need to remove the passenger side rear seat belt which our dog chewed. Can anyone tell me how to do this and, is there anything to watch out for such as air bags or electrical wiring? Never done this before so need help so I do not stuff something up. Located in Melbourne Victoria. Many thanks.

:welcome: Being a rear belt I don't think you will need to worry about triggering airbags and I assume the sensor is in the clasp not the belt assembly,  but there are others more knowledgeable than me about these things.

The sensor is in the seat base, I think.

There must be two. One in the seat base that detects a passenger and another in the buckle to detect if the belt is latched.

Because if there wasn't one in the buckle then how would it detect if the rear belts were latched or not?

It could be by separation of the latch, by inserting the belt buckle.

:head_butt: Silly me, I meant the latch (the thing in the seat)  :-[
