hello every one i am new to the forum
first off thank you for any one ho tries to help
my problem is that my head lights are very very dim
i have tried to clean the headlights inside and out
tried switching bulbs
and i have tried adjusting the headlights up but still no good
any one have any ideas what it could be?
as a note i have noticed and checked with my phone and a lux app when the car is one the light is stronger but still very week and when its off its even weaker

Welcome. You are not alone (see what I did there)

Hyundai headlights in series 1 and 2 cars are a bit of a weak point. Current model series 3 (PD) seem better to me. We've had 4 i30's and I did upgrade the globes in the FD and GD models to an adequate level. There are several threads on here about that. Not sure quite why yours are so bad? Maybe the low beams are adjusted a bit low?

If even with the high beams the lighting is poor, I would recommend getting a slimline LED light bar and mounting it on a light weight number plate bracket mounted nudge bar.  There can look quite sporty and will certainly make a lot of difference to your high beam output.

This sort of thing although stainless or aluminium with a single narrow light bar would be my preference.

here we can't install light bars its illigal for some reason
so as changing the lights to LED or HID
could it be a voltage drop?

Poorly choice of led / hid cause dramas.
Put a good set of leds in and see what happens.
I doubt the authorities over there wish to remove your globes for a look.

Would you get away with something like this? Not a light bar as such? I know yours is a newer model than the FD pictured

Catch 22 / too dull to pass, but can't do decent upgrade.
I'd go to auto electrician and ask about your lights given your country's rules.

yep pretty much cant see anything at night 
i had gone to a car elctrician but he said it was the headlight housing it self that is bad
but it dosent look that way

Sometimes if people put higher rated globes in, the heat can burn the reflective coating - "brown out " is the term.

is there any way to know if it is burnt out?
to change the headlight housing here is expensive
its about 1600$ here to buy both head lights so i trying to avoid it as much as i can
but if there is no other way

Inside will be not very shiny, dull grey / light brown in colour. Check in daylight.
Need to remove globe and use stick & rag/cloth to check if just dirt.
Don't panic.

aha ok ill check and see what will come out
but how can i see if it is dull ? you cant see throe the projector lens

Can you try and source some good second hand ones if yours are damaged via a wreckers yard or online (Ebay or similar)

i could try and find from wreackrs but its a 50/50 chance it will be a good one but worth a shot
in any case is there a way to test a voltage drop with the negative line of the car? to see i im getting a 12v to the headlight?

So an update to the problem, after trying switching to new bulbs from philips 150+ racing vision still no change a bit better but no by alot, cheking all the wires and everything is good, so the problem i think is the projector is blown, so im thinkng of opening the headlight and replate it, becuse its very hard to find a headlight assmbly here, and when you do its wayy over priced, 2000 us dollar fo 2 headlights.
Dose any one here on the forum has open one of those before?

If a projector was broken you would clearly be able to see by looking at the headlight, the projector is a simple lense which the bulb inserts into.

I somehow doubt both projectors could be broken though stranger things have happened they’re not prone to dirt or dust getting in there either unless the dust caps Have been left off for a period of time.

i dont think the lens is broken i think its dull inside and thats why i dont have front visabilty.
other then that i dont see any thing ells that could be the problem thats the one thing i have not chackd if the inside of the lens is dull, and i havent seen any why to chack it to
thats why im asking if any one here has open one before

Take the bulb out and shine a torch into it, should be able to then see if it's clear or not...next step would be to remove the light housing and inspect further.

the refelctor was in bad shape
no refectivity at all
yesterday i painted one of them with great result
today ill do the other one and show the the results

no spacial just heat resistant and its only temporary
i ordered new clear lenses for the headlight when they arrive ill go ahead and open the housing and plate it with chrome
but for now its a huge improvement like 80% more light then before
i have seen a lot of i30 with dim headlights even new ones
i think that from the factory the coating on the inner reflector is not that good that's why it is so dim
even with normal globs not the 150 racing vision its super bright ill post in the evening a photo of before and after
