Hi Everyone,
This is my second attempt so I must have done something wrong the first time.
I don't have an i30 yet but am very seriously considering one. I drive a dedicated LPG Ford Falcon which is due for replacement and having done the sums, I think the i30 will cost about the same to run here in Perth with diesel at @$1.95 and LPG at @ $0.70.  I currently own a late '06 Accent which is really my daughter's car so I don't get to drive that much and I like the idea of trying to get 1000 kms per tank from an i30.
I've done the test drive, pricing etc so am close to deciding which way to go.
I love the site and the fact that there is membership from around the globe.
Regards,Dave

Welcome Dave.

You will be very happy purchase of a Hyundai i30 Deisel.
I have'nt yet cracked 1000k in mine yet. About 950 was my best but most of our deisel members have passed 1000km. Some even boast to have done 1200-1300km.
The economic advantages of the deisel is a bit questionable in the short term with deisel prices on the rise, but the i30 deisel is still the way to go in my opinion, even if only for the amazing performance it offers, not to mention it has lower co2 emmisions.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

WELCOME from another i30 fan.

If you are into crunching numbers I have another calculation for you.

As you may know already blending LPG with Diesel (in the inlet manifold) offers huge advantages in terms of emission reductions and probably about 20% fuel saving as well. Last time I looked you could get an additional State Government grant for the conversion in WA. If your annual Kilometers are high enough those grants might just make the difference now that Diesel prices can be expected to fall a bit.

If you have not yet considered adding LPG to Diesel you mighty like to take a look at http://www.eco-gas.com.au/default.aspx and see what you think.

If you do decide to go this route there will be several here who will want to hear your impressions.

Thanks for all your comments.
My internet has been down for the past 24 hrs so have been unable to reply.
I've heard of the diesel/lpg thing before & it was interesting to look at that link, thanks.
I'll probably just see how the car goes as is at first but never say never....
