I enjoyed a nice trip out this afternoon to the British heritage car Museum in Gaydon Warwickshire.

There are a few hundred British built cars on display going back to the 1890's and right through to about 2008. It was fascinating stuff.

I saw examples of the cars I have owned over the years including a 1955 Standard 8, a Hillman Imp, and an Austin Princess Ambassador. It was a trip down memory Lane. Even Libby enjoyed it and she found examples of some old cars her family owned when she was a kid, plus cars she has owned herself.

I didn't take a camera with me and used my phone. I find it near impossible to avoid camera shake with the phone but here are a few pics of interest :-

I wasn't aware of that particular museum, but after seeing those photos,  I'll definately be visiting it on my trip to the UK next year.

Back to the Future? - The DeLorean

Terrific find,  Alan.

Point of order. There were 7 Delorians used in filming BTTF. When I visited Universal Studios in 1994. I took a pic of one sitting forlornly in the back lot. I suspect it may hav been the one I  your photos as apparently only 3 still exist.

I haven't looked at all the pics. Will do when I get home and off this fiddly tablet.

I didn't see any vehicles that were made outside the UK. It is a British heritage car Museum.  The majority of vehicles were from the Jaguar, Austin, Rover, Morris and their forebears groups.

There are about 200 cars in the main museum and a further 200 cars in an adjacent "collection" which are kept roadworthy and hired out for TV and Filming. From the mezzanine in the "Collection" building you can look down into the well equipped workshop where cars are being worked on

It is fascinating to witness the development of the motor car over the past 120 years. Some of the old race cars and MG land speed record cars are engineering wonders.  I just might go again and take a decent camera with me next time.

Some great photos (again), Alan.  I now have a British made car, so was glad to see some of the classics in there.

Is the DeLorean like the XY Phase 3 GTHO here in Australia now?  A classic Australian muscle car.  Legend has it that of the original 300 built, there are only 500 left.
