I already posted a bit about myself in another thread but I'll put some info here as well since it seems to be the place to be.
I've spent 35 years working in the tyre industry in various roles. All one company (an international) until 2004 when i went to a boutique company which specialised in import and wholesale tyres from 4" diameter to 50" + earthmover. After a couple of years there I retired and came home to Queensland where my main job now is surfing.
I still do some work for a few dealerships in Brisbane, as well as help out occasionally for the Brisbane branch of my last employer.
Some of the roles I held while working full time included Retail Store Manager, State Workshop Supervisor, Marketing Manager (State and National roles). Spent a lot of time running training courses. Also helped set up and run a Licensing (franchising) program. Finally as State Manager with responsibilities for sales, warehousing, deliveries and collections.
Started in Queensland, transferred to HO in Sydney and finally came home again.
OH! Not sure it's relevant here but spent half my lifetime building and driving rally cars, serving in various C.A.M.S. positions and dabling in motor sport journalism. (which helped pay for my rallying )

Hope you didn't drive both at the same time

You must have had some interesting fares.

so:
Any famous celebs?

Any funny, but clean, stories?

Any odd requests from fares?

What was your longest fare

etc etc

Tell all

Hi all, i recently finished Music Academy -> Clarinet Professor, and now in a teaching work for a year and a half, so time to get me some luxuries like i30 hehehehehe
Also finished (problem with translating correctly ) for aircraft mechanic though for radars and the rest of electronic instruments/equipment, not the engine or structure :D
Suffice too say for now i chose teaching because its much easier, relaxed, waaaaay more free time etc

I'm not talking from direct experience but as an observer who visits school as part of my day job and a number of teachers as friends.

Overall, the majority are great kids but you get a few who are little/big s*ds and can make life a misery for the teacher.

Teachers I know work on average 7.30/8 am to 4.30/5pm'ish.  Go home and then do prep work.

Weekends doing prep or marking so they put in the hours but do get compensated with 12 week holidays a year.

What level of teaching are you doing?

Yeah, thats true, same here + here teachers work for 700euro a month!

Other teachers started their work with great hope and expectation but kids kicked that will for work out of them very fast and all is reduced to waiting for retirement...very sad.
I work one week from 8am to 1-2pm, other from 2pm to 7-8pm, some short prep work before job or during, not a chance during weekends :)

Thing about "little/big s*ds" is beyond easy for me.
Its all about image and perception of you.
I have only 24y (22y day i started) so i get all the tricks and stuff they try...my look is extremely aggressive  (underline only LOOK)...principal spread the fact from my biography from application that i'm the active football fan (which here in Croatia instantly means you are criminal and hooligan -> dangerous) and now everyone is sort of affraid and scared to try anything including also stupid parents complains about grades, now they are all realistic
Ofc i am trying to be fair to all and for now that works like a dream job  8)
