Just a point, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that the window rubber strips do not clear the rain when the glass is lowered and raised.

I know it's a small point but in previous cars I have found this to be an effective way of quickly improving sight lines at junctions.

it could be that my car is faulty, but I do not see how.

thanks

Can't say I've noticed that (Haven't driven an i30 in the rain for some time) ..

Might help to put some Rainx or similar on the two front (side) windows to reduce the amount that sticks to the glass

Be interesting to see what others say...

It's been discussed before, and seems to be "one of those things".

Mine's just the same.

Here's one of the threads:

Same problem on mine.

Maybe I should try some of that Rainx or similar. Some kind of nanoproduct, I guess..

They don't clear the window because they're not supposed to.

They are fitted to exclude as much dirt as possible from the interior of the door where rust problems can develop. There is a lot of electrics in there and keeping moisture out is highly advisable. There is a distinct possibility of a decent scratch in the window glass if quartz etc wedges in the rubber, I know, happened to me, not in present cars though.

My rubber strips clear the front half of both front windows except for about about 15cm at the top. They are surprisingly symmetrical.

I use RainX regularly on all my windows - but the side windows, although vertical, dont get clear of rain spots until the car is doing about 40 km/hr.

yes I found the fact that I can't get in the car on damp morning and clear the windows by a quick up and down of the glass like I have done on every other that I have ever owned a little bit annoying but its just one of those things. Don't know if its down to the curve of the glass and the shape of the door or just something that the designers forgot about? Wouldn't of thought its anything to do with not scratching the glass or keeping the electrics dry when the most other manufacturers have no problems with either.

I guess that's a fair observation. Welcome by the way.
Thinking back, I seem to have only experienced it with electric windows... Subaru etc before this.
