.. I pick the sender.
It was the sensor malfunctioning...

Do I get a prize?  :goodjob2:

If you're expecting something, go and check your mailbox on Monday morning and you'll probably get a (sur)prize.
There'll be nothing there.   :D

No.

I found the error before you did.   :whistler:

Hi Nx

Definitely back to dealer.

I think it could be 2 different things.

1.
Defect oil pressure sensor. On many cars there's 1 sensor for low pressure and one for higher pressure. Maybe the one for low pressure is defect.

2.
Worse thing could be defect oil pump. You need to have the oilpressure tested asap. If the oilpressure is too low, you don't do your engine any good by driving it.

Hope you got it sorted out quickly.

Ok a quick update on funny noise!

Still happening and fortunately I had two others in the car that have heard it.  Unfortunately didnt do it by time at garage but reported ... so have to do something when they finally do!

I had a thought tho .... all brake pads were done at last service and only done 250 miles (in small journeys) since so brakes could still be wearing in?

Thoughts anyone?  No idea how long it takes to wear brakes in but Im no longer doing emergency stops at drop of hat!

Can you record the noise and tell us when it happens.

Have you just started needing to have the aircon on?

Might be the Airconditioning Compressor/ Condenser or whatever it is called?

Sorry for delay in replying.  Untill this weekend I havent used the air con so not that.  I have had a couple of people confirm noise and we all agree that its relating to brakes.  Nothing serious but will be taking car back to garage to take apart and fully check.

Due to family emergency I have done a long trip this weekend (415 miles in 36 hrs) and the noise hasnt got louder or more frequent.  Brakes applied gently causes slight whinning noise (audible but not screaching!) but no grinding and after brakes released noise is noticeable for a little while till speed is increased.  Assumption to me is that brakes not releasing fully straight away.

Any thoughts/advice always welcome.

Nx

Hope your emergency wasn't too serious and is resolved. I think a full inspection will find something. Remember, as well as brakes there are ABS sensors and actuators too, so I suspect something minor is misbehaving down there.

a few weeks ago i had a grinding noise in my front brakes,i pulled off the wheels for a look and found a very small stone wedged in between the top of the calliper and disk rotor.  but no damage.  :happydance:
