G'day again, I think I mentioned before on another thread that the A/C on my 4 month old i30 Trophy - 2L petrol engined automobile is not working right. Air is not nearly cold enough for our hot summers we get.

So today I rang our local Hyundai Dealer, Momsens at Bega, just a mere 140km down the Highjway

The Service Manager said sometimes a new vehicle's A/C is not gassed properly at the factory in Korea and they have had to re gas or top up a few times.  Not really good enough eh?  So next Monday I have to make the 280km return trip to Bega, down the Princes Hwy to get the A/C looked at and probably regassed or topped up, or to check for leakage.  Warranty job of course.  I wonder if I can hit Hyundai for fuel. :snigger:
(Yes, Uncle Lester believes in Fairies.)

Anyone else had A/C issues with the FD i30 ? :blubber:

I think what they told you about the factory gas levels was probably correct. It's what I was told when I had mine regassed the first time.

Since then, I've had a new condensor and all manner of fixes done to mine. Works great now tho. Eventually.

So much for the pre-delivery that you paid for then.

Fortunately I wouldn't say that was typical though, thankfully. Neither of our i30's have had a problem with the aircon.

Ah, Bega. NZ cheese.

No mate not Kiwi but Bega = New South Wales - Australian Cheese, very nice.  If you buy your cheese at Aldi in OZ, most of it comes from Bega.  www.begacheese.com.au (slow loading site, but pretty.) :D   Yes I will stock up next week , and if the A/C is working ok, whack the cheese in the Glove box cooler of ye i30. :P Lubberly Jubberly.

Oh, thanks to all for the feedback re A/C issues.  The truth is out there!

I'm getting confused - what were the ads that used to have the Kiwis on there talking about Cheeseday?  :undecided:

Don't know mate, cannot recollect that ad. But I can assure you Bega Cheese is produced in the Bega Valley, NSW.  The Factory is about 3 kms north of Bega Town.  Access the site I mentioned above.

The Kiwis do make good cheese though, how about in W.A. you make some good cheese I believe..'Sandgroper Blue Vein perhaps.

Geez I am in strife now for going off topic.  All about A/C this. :-[

I think the Sandroper Blue Vein cheese is from Swanbourne W.A. where I don't think you need air conditioning.
There we go,   :backontopic:
Other than that, I'm not really into cheeses so I don't know what we have here.

Crikey, some 'Cheesy' comments on here.  Vintage they are, although some of them are processed.

Who started all this? I started with A/C and ended up in a Cheese Factory, we all must be 'crackers.'

G'day again readers. Well re my A/C on the i30, drove the 280 km return trip to my nearest Hyundai delaer at Bega on Monday.  They took the car to the local auto electrician who checked out the A/C, found no leaks but little refrigerant in the system, so refilled it.  Under warranty, no charge.  But what pissed me off, excuse the French, was no apology from Service Manager or Dealer Principal, when I pointed out the A/C should have been checked out at predelivery on 19 June or at first check in August.

I feel better now. :happydance:

At least you got a result!  :goodjob:

Maybe a nicely worded letter to Hyundai Australia is in order?  :whistler:

But, more importantly, did you end up getting some cheese?

Rusty, thanks mate, your points noted, yes a letter to Hyundai Australia might be in order, Momsen Hyundai at Bega need to lift their game I reckon.

Cheese again ! :happydance:  Yes mate called in at ye olde Bega Cheese Complex, got some Bega Heritage and some Pepper Corn Cheese.  Whacked it in the glove box cooler. :snigger:

I just checked my glove box cooler.  There is no cheese in there!!  I might have to go to Hyundai here and complain because some of you have cheese in yours.  I might ask for some nice King Island Brie....
