Splendid service. She feels brand new again :D

You might notice the aircon comment on the sheet. I asked them to make sure the system was fully charged, as it takes quite some time to remove interior condensation

Did you check though -  does it look like they really emptied and refreshed the coolant?

You know I'm a cynic, but it's so easy for them to just test the specific gravity, see its ok and save themsleves some time and effort.

No, not checked. The nice young lady at reception who ran thru the above sheet with me started out by stating they had replaced the "water". Fan-bloody-tastic.

But I haven't checked it.

The 42 mile drive back home was a dream; what with the new tyres and what seemed to be an unusually eager engine  has got me wondering whether some other "updates" have been applied.

Too happy to be concerned, tbh.

PS.. you might owe me a virtual fiver :P

Steve, sounds good. I think Diesels tend to make the oil thicker the longer its in the motor the ticker it would get, as they add soot to the oil. so when you have the oil changed it would be slightly thinner weight ( if still useing same type & weight oil ) this could help motor spin slightly easier.
Also it is possible they could have added injection cleaner.
I have noticed Diesel Trucks feel more responcive after a service too, specialy if injection is cleaned & serviced. as fuel controls the engine speed with diesels not air.

I wondered what "Lithium Protect" is. Thought maybe it was som eoil additive which might have freed up the engine a bit.
So I ggogled it and found this.

Do you still have the tunning box connected?

If not then I would guess they have either updated the ecu or cleared the memory and this will have set all the parameters held to nil, so you are starting with a "clear" memory.

Its the same as Copperslip.. In this case its a lithium based grease that is used on the contact points of the brake pads to calipers/caliper yoke. It stops brake dust etc from sticking the pads to the yoke, and reduces the chance of brake squeal.
