Use the alt key, hold it down and type 0178 for the ²
and 0176 for the °
after the lst numeral, let the alt key go and the character  you want will appear.

Also 0188 = ¼
0189 = ½
0190 = ¾
0247 = ÷

 

or

type the number the put - sup in square brackets before it - and  - forward slash and sup in square brackets - after it.

Also works for letters/words:
